He's Back!!!
That's right!! CJ Henderson (or Robert Morgan) is back with a brand new collection of stories. Maybe some of you out there have read some of these stories in other published mediums, or maybe this is the first time you have even heard of CJ Henderson. In any case, here is a great collection of reads! Mr. Henderson is one of the few authors who can combine the gritty and at times all too real Hard Boiled crime genre and then combine the Mythos Fiction of HP Lovecraft! And boy, let me tell you, it's like reading something new and different for the first time! So, what are you waiting for? buy it now!!

On Line and On Paper: Visual Representations, Visual Culture, and Computer Graphics in Design Engineering (Inside Technology)
Published in Hardcover by MIT Press (01 December, 1998)
Author: Kathryn Henderson
Average review score:

Thinking (or Not) with CAD
Dr. Henderson provides a rich understanding of how real engineers really integrate pencil and paper with automated approaches. Extensive on-site studies with a clear eye help overcome the hype of CAD and highlight the many ways that visual cognition expresses itself. Those involved in developing systems to support engineering (especially design engineering), specifying and acquiring those systems, or supporting them would be well advised to read this book. The systems that we do build and buy need to work with how people really work; Henderson gives a rich description of how designers design.

Engineers who have not be enamored of CAD will find their case sympathetically presented. Those whose careers have changed may have a better appreciation of why. Those who manage, train, and support engineers are the ones who most need to read this book. If you sell CAD systems, you should read this so you know what they say about you after you leave. Those of us studying practice and the role of technology might have asked for a few more tables and comparisions to help us keep the different stories and companies straight.

If you like to read about design (that is, you're a fan of Henry Petroski's The Pencil), you'll enjoy the discussion of visual culture and the origins of engineering drawing customs.

If you are not used to reading research, you might want to skip the first section (or come back to it later).

Fabulous!
I loved the wonderfully concise stories in this book (one minute may be all the time your little one will sit still!) The illustrations were also beautiful.

One-Minute Bible Stories, New Testament
Published in Hardcover by Doubleday Books (October, 1986)
Authors: Florence Henderson and Shari Lewis

Great Resource
This is a great way to present Bible stories quickly, especially to the littlest children who have very short attention spans!

The video staring Florence Henderson is excellent, and would be a great resource for Christian education programs and for home use.

The Opposition Press of the Federalist Period
Published in Hardcover by State Univ of New York Pr (June, 1969)
Author: Donald Henderson Stewart
Average review score:

Jeffersonians vs Federalists
This book is a comprehensive detailed review of the Democratic Republican press of the early Federalist period. The Republicans waged a relentless war against the elitist and arrogant Federalist Party which they believed was leading the nation back to aristocracy and monarchy. The author details Republican presses from Massachusetts to Georgia and their modes of attack on such Federalist policies as the Jay Treaty, the assumption of state debts, the Alien and Sedition Acts and the quasi-war with France. The Republicans defended democracy and the French Revolution against the British influence and bias of the Federalists. A great book.

Our Souls to Keep: Black/White Relations in America
Published in Paperback by Intercultural Press (October, 1998)
Author: George Henderson
Average review score:

pretty good
As a feminist and white Woman, I empathize with the experiences of African Americans, and am happy to combat the white patriarchal paradigms of hatred in the U.S. This book, while taking no real risks, is helpful in demonstrating how whites can often insult and abuse African Americans without 'realizing it'. I suppose bell hooks is a more interesting and transgressive writer, and this book lacks appropriate feminist content; the incredible variety and richness of contemporary feminist discourse goes almost unmentioned here. Still, this is a book all eurocentric people need to read.

People No Different Flesh
Published in Paperback by Avon (August, 1987)
Author: Zenna Henderson
Average review score:

Sheer delight from Zenna Henderson
Readers who love Zenna Henderson's Pigrimage will want to read this, her second novel about the People, a race from another planet who become marooned on earth. The People have the very best of human qualities: love, gentleness, spirituality; and also special powers of healing, levitation and other abilites.

This book tells the story of a couple, Mark and Meris, who, one stormy night, find a young girl who has fallen in a capsule from the sky, and who has special abilities. Maris and Mark, still grieving the loss of their own baby, must come to terms with the emotional issues that caring for the young girl, Lala, creates in both of them. What follows is a plot that will involve the reader in the magic, compassion and sense of rightness that the People evoke.

In Pilgrimage, as in The People: No Different Flesh, the plot shifts between the present day story, and stories about the People from their past, which comprise the People's race memory. Included as one of these memories told to Mark and Meris is a short story, "Deluge", which has appeared in some short story collections. "Deluge" gives the reader a taste of the magical and deeply fulfilling way of life on the People's home planet and tells how the People came to leave it. Other memories tell us what happened to various individuals of the People as they arrived on earth. These add texture and interest to the present-day story, and include events of terrible persecution of the People as well as stories of personal tragedy and joy.

Some critics have found Zenna Henderson and her People books too emotionally melodramatic, and indeed, Henderson does have the talent for making vivid emotion come alive on the page. The ending of this book has a fairytale-like happiness that may bring tears to many readers' eyes, although some critics consider Henderson to be too saccharine. To my mind, Henderson's novels, with their emotional brand of spirituality, are uplifting and warming without being cloying. Henderson shows us that there is still comfort and genuine goodness in the world. Reading The People: No Different Flesh is like drinking a warm cup of cocoa in front of a fire on a cold winter's night. END

Perfect Fit - Perfect title for a terrific book!
If you're looking for real-world information on starting your own Image Consulting business, this book is a must buy! It doesn't deal with the various makeup lines or color theory, but covers extensively resources, financial planning for your Image Consulting business, writing proposals for Corporate clients, business structure, training and lots more.

Though I'm an experienced Image Consultant and Color Analyst, I found valuable information here to help me take my business to the next level. The section on Corporate proposals was of terrific value to me.

It's an easy read, and will become part of your much-used reference library. Highly recommended!
